They all invite you to be who you are, to relax into healing and awakening, because they all serve your one unique and precious human life, and because they all help you to meet the movement of life with a life of practice attuned to your own rhythms and values.
In working with you, I may draw from my years of training and experience in Nondual Kabbalistic Healing®, Restorative Herbals, and Creative Inquiry.
Whether your primary focus is a fresh loss, an old trauma, a challenging relationship, a life transition, a physical illness, or a vague sense of dissatisfaction, it is important to discern how your mind, your personality, your body, your spirit are all affected, and to draw on what will best support the whole of you.
Whether we draw on nondual healing, herbs, or creative engagement with words, colors, images, silence, we want to understand ourselves as vividly multi-dimensional and profoundly capable.
With that intention, I have created a healing program and practice around 4 areas of focus, each a gateway into greater self-awareness, acceptance, and healing.

Cross The Threshold: See Yourself as you See Yourself
This is about you, meeting change with curiosity, and growing freedom and integrity.
Too often you don’t really see how you see yourself–how the stories you have crafted about yourself and the world can reinforce your limited perspective on safety and support your defensive habits.
Through this playful and intuitive engagement with images, words, and phrases you will be in intimate conversation with your past, present, and future, you will begin to see into your own complexity, wisdom, and unfolding.
You will open to the possibility of living into a much bigger story, and your completed collage will suggest your own particular and initiatory gates of entry into a precious and good-enough life.
This engagement includes:
Befriend Your Body: Map its patterns, rhythms, and functions
If you feel too busy and preoccupied, often overriding, misinterpreting, or failing to even notice your own body sensations, body mapping will support a reunion with your sacred home.
If you tend to your body by appointment or afterthought, and you worry that your choices can no longer sustain a work-around level of health, body mapping will help you prioritize a better relationship with yourself.
Your body comes with its own very personalized instructions, and you can learn to read and follow them. You can learn the pattern language of your body’s climate and your guiding physiological rhythms: breath, flow, messaging, energy use.
You can learn to inquire, observe, listen, and respond openheartedly to your body and environments, drawing on your innate feel for the dynamics (flow, boundary, dispersal and permeability) of the natural elements – water, fire, air, and earth.
Many professionals use body mapping in their work, often using chakra, anatomical or ergonomic contexts.
I believe it is most beneficial to the healing work that I offer that body mapping be returned to its natural context. We are embedded in and one with nature, even though our cultural model is one of mastery and exploitation.
Through body mapping you will celebrate your body with honesty and kindness. You will see new possibilities to tend, befriend, free and direct its extraordinary creative energies, as well as to establish a sustainable foundation of health for the life-work that calls you to take the place that is yours alone.

“With your inspiration I went back to doing my own energy work/ QiGong this morning… a routine I have done on and off for years and tend to let go of under great stress.”
The supplement marketplace is challenging for the consumer. How will you identify the herbs to best support you, access them in high quality form, and dose them appropriately, or even evaluate label claims and pricing?
Together we will make sense of the noisy and confusing herbal marketplace, identify themes for intentional exploration that support your goals for a life of practice, and identify individualized herbal choices. Herbal use is itself a practice that invites consistent attention, use and observation of effects over time.
Your personal herbal friends can build, nourish, and nudge your body towards the rhythms, energy use, mood, and resilience that establish a sustainable foundation of health for the life-work that calls you to take the place that is yours alone.
In a 2-hour private session, you will walk me through your completed body assessment and we will review the health history forms you have returned to me. We will focus on patterns, establish priorities, and discuss issues that bear on safety, cost, taste, and lifestyle.
We may further identify themes for exploration that support your goals for softening habits and establishing an intentional life of practice.
I formulate for your specific systemic needs and advise you what shifts you might anticipate. You name your formula to reinforce your intention.
Within 48 hours after our session, I will email you a brief write-up on your herbs and proper use and dosage, and submit the formulation to a dispensary. The dispensary will call you to arrange payment and ship directly to you.
NOTE: I do not profit from the herbs I recommend. I work with several dispensaries in Maryland that stock high-quality herbs and comply with Good Manufacturing Processes. You will set up your own payment relationship with one of them. If you prefer to access your own herbs, or to use over-the-counter products, we will work within your preferences.

“Sara’s work has been of benefit in the most profound way for me. I was seriously ill for a number of years and felt cast adrift in the world of traditional medical care. Many doctors, many tests, many symptoms, no diagnosis, no plan of care. Sara was the first health care provider I worked with who actually listened to me on a very deep level. She took the time to tease out all the bits and pieces of symptom presentation in order to come up with an herbal formula plan. I was treated with great respect and felt safe in our sessions to explore the physical, mental and emotional devastation I felt at the time. Sara used that feedback to continue to fine tune the herbal formulas and provide Nondual Kabbalistic Healing that was appropriate for each session.”
Life is in constant motion, and the only certainty is change. Yet we are driven by powerful physiological and unhealed egoic forces to resist change that threatens our survival, and to return to a zone of comfort and stability.
Even when we yearn to make a change at a time of our own choosing, we commonly fear the very change we long for. When we stand trembling on the threshold, yearning, courageous and fearful all at once, we know that we need a trustworthy direction and guide to negotiate these uncertainties.
With wise guidance, we can turn directly toward our fears, step into wholeness, and establish a life of practice in tune with our own rhythms and in relationship with what is. As we assume compassionate agency our life over binding habits, we heal the defended ego and open to unimagined possibilities.
The healing ego liberates the energies we use to manage life and deny suffering – and all the other ways we stay smaller or bigger than we actually are. Through Nondual Kabbalistic Healing we will free your vitality for friendship, love, intimacy and the life-work that calls you to take the place that is yours alone.
…you could become who you really are, free of your own and others’ idealized expectations?
…you trusted yourself, trusted life, just enough to consider laying down your sharpened sword and polished shield, or whatever implements you have fashioned to keep you safe?
…you could explore, with large measures of kindness and honesty, both the gifts and limitations of the stories you have lived in and lived out, along with realms of new possibilities?
…it turns out that your own anger, fears, suffering, and imperfections are of inestimable value, uniqueness, preciousness?
…you nourished your yearnings and allowed them to pull you forward to shape a life of connection, responsibility, freedom, and beauty?
…you were seen, heard, met, and deeply acknowledged at every step?
Your primary questions may be rooted in your physical, emotional, creative or spiritual well-being, or in your closeness to or distance from people, nature, or God. Either way, coming into a healing and awakening relationship with your life as-it-is is one of the most urgent and hopeful steps you can take towards health and wholeness.
Through Nondual Healing, I offer myself as a practiced guide and fellow-traveler in open-hearted inquiry.
I welcome this half hour as an opportunity for us to get to know each other, for you to explore your questions, hopes, intentions and focus for our work. I will then be able to recommend the frequency of our sessions, how long we might work together, and what tools we might use, including nondual healing, body-centered meditations, herbs, and creative play with images or writing.
In each session healing and awakening walk hand in hand as we unfold, presence, and inquire into the persistence of the past – and the future – in your daily life, all the while guided by your own longing. Together we may laugh, cry, wrestle, sit open-mouthed in the face of the unknown and the unsolvable, yet always weaving whole cloth of beauty and distinction: your life. 10-15 minutes towards the end of a session is set aside for you to rest comfortably as we sit in a quiet receptivity that further presences you-as-you-are and you as-you-are-becoming.
Sessions are available by phone, skype, or in my Baltimore office.
Two-week intervals generally allow for adequate integration of the work. Because this nondual healing stirs us to the depths, we schedule four weeks at a time, every 2 weeks for 8 weeks, and we use a portion of your 4th session to revisit your needs, intentions, and ongoing scheduling at 2-3-week intervals.
Weekly intervals for short periods of time can be helpful to move through an acute physical or emotional challenge or trauma.
I may suggest that in between sessions you heighten your awareness of body sensation, perception, or behavior, undertake a brief journaling, drawing or meditation practice, or provide you with a short reading.
When desired, herbal teas, tinctures and powders blended specifically for you can be used to nourish and calm your nervous and stress systems, brighten your mind, lift your heart, and restore resilience. In this case, we would add an additional ninety-minute session for a body-assessment and a thorough review of safety concerns such as allergies and potential for interactions with medications.
“Truly, the bit of work we’ve done has been supportive and nurturing. In our space, I feel there is understanding and respect for the profound depths of the experience/terrain that I present in the world as a woman and as an African American. You’re unique in that regard in ways that I haven’t found in any other healing space. I especially respect you, Sara, for the space you create and wisdom you hold for womanhood. You understand, I feel, women– our physical, mental, emotional, spiritual, heart, terrain.”
"The herbal powder is wonderful...My back issues are improving, and I am finding that taking the whole day’s worth of herbs just before yoga class provides a huge benefit."
"When I was recovering from Lyme disease several years ago, I developed terrible allergies. Sara concocted an herbal formula for me that both helped alleviate my symptoms and helped to rebuild my immune system. I no longer suffer from any chronic allergies and when I do have periodic recurrences of symptoms, I know just how to manage them without the chemical medications that often lead to uncomfortable side effects. Thanks so much for your detailed attentiveness."
"I want you to know that I like what you said: 'The effects will also build cumulatively and help rebuild your resilience at deeper levels as time goes on.' As I read those words I could hear you and I took a spontaneous deep breath when I read those words… they are like a promise, encouragement that I can/will rebuild, replenish, replete. Thank you, Sara!"
"Thanks to your treatment this is the best day I’ve had in over a week, month …. I felt a discernible shift about 11:15 p.m. last night. Today I feel grounded, intact, in the flow of things. Not anxious, overwhelmed, irritable."
"I met with some of my childhood girl friends on Saturday for a tea party. As they talked about their relationships, health, etc. I found myself sharing some of the things I've learned from/with you over the course of our wellness journey as though it were second nature...Thanks for helping me to plant those seeds of knowledge and to be confident enough in my own skin to be able to nurture my loved ones."
"NKH addressed the profound transformational shifts occurring within my very core. Sara's knowledge of this system of healing and her ability to zero in on the issue of the moment nourished and lubricated my new self and, like the Phoenix rising from the ashes, allowed for a very profound renewal of all of me. The journey was a rough passage, maybe even a Dark Night, and Sara as Midwife provided the very necessary Sacred Space to help me move forward intact and whole."
"You really helped me get in touch with my courage to stand in what I want and be able to speak it without feeling like I had to explain myself, feel bad in some way or that I wasn't worth it. That is huge for me, and I thank you very much for helping me."
"My very first experience of Sara was as a powerful and gentle leader who had a vision for healing and wellness. Years later she continues to inspire others towards living a life of wellness and wholeness. Sara is a phenomenal and dedicated teacher as well. For many years she was a favorite guest speaker in my course at Johns Hopkins University called Complementary and Alternative Medicine. She is truly one of the wisest teachers that I have ever known, offering her amazing depth of herbal medicine knowledge to students and also to her clients. When I first started meeting with Sara as one of her clients I felt immediately embraced by her compassion and felt like I was being heard like I have never been before from any health care provider, ever. Her astute listening skills and her ability to integrate herbal medicine into my health care and my life care has helped me in millions of ways. Her intuitive wisdom and her incredibly knowledge combined contribute significantly to a personalized health plan. Sara is always kind and makes herself available as needed. I can’t think of a better way for health care to be provided and my health to be supported. Her powerful and gentle ways continue to transform every healing encounter. I am grateful for her being my lifesaver."
"I am working on practicing radical self care, which means cutting back on the hours I work. However, it is absolutely necessary for me in order to stay in a good place. I truly value the work we have done together"
“I especially respect you, Sara, for the space you create and wisdom you hold for womanhood. You understand, I feel, women-- our physical, mental, emotional, spiritual, heart, terrain."
